Celebrating Earth Day!

Happy Earth Day! Today Catholic Climate Covenant invites everyone to pause and consider more intentionally God's call to each of us to care for creation and care for the poor.

On this day the global community is responding to that call by signing the Paris Climate Agreement. 150 countries are gathering today in NYC at the UN to commit to the fruits of COP21, an event which Pope Francis praised as historic. "Its implementation," he said, "will require unanimous commitment and generous dedication by everyone." The Holy Father has asked us to pay "special attention to the most vulnerable populations [and] to carefully follow the road ahead, with an ever-growing sense of solidarity."

Join us in celebrating this worthwhile commitment to care for our common home. Post this on Facebook, tweet it out to your followers, and let us know what you're doing to celebrate Earth Day with the hashtag #CreationCare.
